Today, GV Designs, LLC represents the latest chapter in a professional journey that began in Philadelphia in 1980. More than 45 years of professional experience have shaped not only the way Gedalia approaches design, creative problem-solving, construction, and project development, but also his belief that no individual, regardless of talent or experience, can accomplish truly exceptional work alone.
That belief is reflected in the team at GV Designs today — a core group of gifted individuals with different strengths, experience, and areas of expertise who complement one another and work together as a true team. Their collective ability, collaboration, and commitment are what define the company today.
More importantly, Gedalia sees in some of the young people working beside him today something that reminds him of himself more than four decades ago. They give him confidence that when the time comes for him to step away, the work will continue in capable hands. Whether the company of the future carries the name GV Designs is far less important than the principles, commitment, and creative spirit behind its work.
Just as Emanuel “Manny” Reider once gave Gedalia the opportunity and encouragement that helped shape his own path, Gedalia hopes that the next generation will carry that spirit forward — and ultimately go further, accomplish more, and achieve greater success than he did.
45+ YEARS OF PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Gedalia Vinokurov was introduced to Mr. Morton Shapiro, owner of Sameric Corporation, when Sameric had already engaged another architectural firm for many years. During his first meeting, Gedalia was able to show Mr. Shapiro how to increase the number of seats from 1,400 to 1,703 in an existing building which was converted to an Eric movie theatre in Harrisburg, PA. From that point on, Gedalia designed all new Eric movie theatres until Sameric was sold to United Artists.
Our client, Target Investments, desired to build a minimum of 96 townhouses in Smyrna, DE. While other architectural firms could not find a solution for this targeted number of units, Gedalia was able to successfully design, with approval without variances, a 136 townhouse development without sacrificing luxury and sizes of each unit.
